How can I go to bed? Records are getting knocked over like dominoes at the Water Cube in Beijing and Phelps just scored his second gold medal in the 4 x 100m freestyle. The U.S. came in at 3 minutes 8.24 seconds, smashing the world record by nearly 4 seconds!
Canada also did well, knocking 4 seconds off their previous time and coming sixth. Brent Hayden broke the Canadian record as the lead-off swimmer in the relay (his 100m time counts as an individual record)and says his decision to scratch the 200m freestyle semi earlier today was a "pick your battles" decision. Clearly he made the right choice.
The racing has been unbelievable and now I'm too wound up to sleep. Thanks goodness there's round the clock Olympics!
