Exterior Design

The first time I came across the concept of projecting large-scale images was in William Gibson's 1984 novel, Neuromancer. Gibson, who coined the term 'cyberspace', is a genius at forecasting our socio-technological future and I find his work fascinating. His description of future-Tokyo's polluted, overcast sky serving as a virtual television or the drug-addicted artist who is able to project holograms due to electronic implants may seem a stretch but are no less prescient. Besides, who doesn't love to see the theoretical become reality? Just ask William Shatner.

Some day, when every surface has become a veritable billboard, this type of image projection might be the bane of our existence. At the moment though, it's serious eye candy. No joke, working on this stuff at companies like The Electric Canvas or Urbanscreen would be my dream career.

Anyway, they've been busy. Check out some of these badass visuals... (more on their websites)
